Well here’s a few suggestions – having chosen your main items , continental lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers etc try topping the dish with either pine kernels thinly shredded raw beetroot or delightfully fine chopped apricots or refreshing flame seedless grapes. All these will garnish your salad bowl and bring a ‘wow factor’ to your dish.
Our new range of micro cresses are starting to get you all interested too. Their individual flavours are puzzling people why is this salad so different??!! Keep the secret as long as you can.
Finally how do we complete? a salad? Try a fine Italian or Spanish olive oil, mixed with an English mustard powder, some fine French herbs whisked together and drizzle over carefully, don’t over do it it’s a dressing not a ducking process.

Fruits:
As mentioned in our seasonal ideas you have lots of lovely fruits on offer. My choice would be orange flesh charantais melons, fresh English strawberries or raspberries and lovely peaches and nectarines. Messy, but delicious mangos, and Cyprus watermelons. Don’t send us your cleaning bill.

Vegetables:
It’s the time of year when there’s more time needed in the vegetable corner of the kitchen. But the rewards are great. Young tender spinach leaves fresh garden peas, succulent broad beans, courgettes and new crop potatoes. All extra prep time is needed but the results are the compliments from the dinners. The fact that nearly all vegetables are locally sourced adds to the freshness and the eating qualities.
Can we remind you that all of Prescott Thomas vehicles are fully refrigerated which continues the ‘COOL CHAIN CYCLE’ from warehouse to your kitchen. However, please put your goods away ASAP.

Future Plans:
We will be introducing some extra items to our dry goods range: Fresh Pastas, Rice, Salt, Wine, Vinegars, all these plus our tinned tomatoes; baked beans and the extra virgin olive oil may be of some help when placing your vegetable orders.

For those who are on the CARBON FOOTPRINT trail it’s this time of year when local grown produce benefits the environment.
